A brand new artist who’s already causing quite the stir in both his chosen contemporary figurative genre and with a wider, broader art-loving audience per se, Nigel Mason’s debut 8-part series of limited editions has got anyone and everyone excited; including ourselves. The much-hyped Mason has seemingly turned his artistically-inclined hand to everything before settling on being a published artist, including stints as an art teacher and TV set designer according to the man himself. Yet we’re glad his ultimate goal sees him practising his hugely gifted artistic talents in the guise of individually-signed giclee on canvas vignettes, such as this very latest Spring 2016 compositional point in question. Entitled ‘Lift’ this 7.75” x 7.75” board with slip visual number focuses on the most simple, yet timeless of images, delivered in a style not altogether dissimilar to Mason’s heroes, Degas and Rembrandt is has to be noted.
