Richard Rowan hopes his very latest collection of silkscreen on glass limited editions convey a simple message to those interested parties keen to add such visually impressive compositional pieces to their existing contemporary landscape collections; or alternatively, use as a starting point to forge one going forward. And that message – according to the best-selling and hugely imaginative art practitioner himself – is to “Give people the opportunity to forget about the world around them – even if it is just for five minutes – and for my paintings to transport them into looking at the heart of a nebular, watching the Milky Way or the clouds rolling above their heads.” Above and beyond that, Rowan wants viewer’s eyes to focus more on the colour in the painting which should trick their mind into thinking the sky is actually moving, the sun is setting and the night stars are twinkling. Essentially, the hand-signed limited edition now available to order directly through the gallery/our online presence pictorially draws the eye to the centre of the works where the light is usually focused. One there the white card behind the glass allows the light to reflect back thus ‘illuminating’ the image, ultimately affording the 9.5” x 6.5” study entitled ‘Lose Yourself’ a delicate and organic feel.
