More normally a loaded warning of what may result from intrusion by unfamiliar parties, the ‘Beware of the Dog II’ message flagged up here and now is an altogether more hospitable illustrative affair, which essentially serves visual notice of the unparalleled relationship which readily ensues between man (or on this pictorial occasion, boy) and their fiercely loyal companion. No more, no less. And the man behind the compositional warning is none other than the hugely popular and award-winning contemporary fine artist, Doug Hyde.
