Historic collector of Marilyn Monroe imagery and one-time celeb snapper of the day himself, the late Edward Weston (or in this case his surviving estate) have joined forces with one of this country’s most respected fine art publishers, Washington Green to launch a brand new mini-series of instantly recognizable and generation-spanning iconic photo-pictorials of one of the most photo-documented women in the public eye, possibly ever.
The source of much interest, pleasure, controversy and debate ever since she met with fame back in the 1940s, Monroe’s appeal is enduring and shows no signs of letting up, thanks to the recent unveiling of this unique, 8-piece collection.
This particular visual episode is entitled, ‘Lost in Thought, Santa Monica Beach, 1962’, and shares with avid viewers a melancholy Monroe, arms wrapped tightly against her frame, battling the elements during what appears to have been a less than welcome photo-call; remembered and revisited here in this limited edition, hand-signed giclee-mounted study, just recently reproduced and available to order as of now.
