‘Check You Out’ is the most recent canvas unveiling by Hayley Goodhead; an aspiring new contemporary animal artist making something of a name for herself.

If we can aid and abet her through our channels, all the better. Essentially, and as you can see for yourself, in something of a Pop Artastic fashion, Goodhead has made the visual connection between black and white vertically stripped zebras and equally monotone vertically stripped bar codes.

And doesn’t it work well?! The more you look at it the more it brings to mind that old joke about a zebra walking across a pedestrian (zebra) crossing and more pertinently the underlying fact that it would become hidden, fleetingly because like the road crossing markings, a zebra is also black and white striped.

If we recall it went something along the following lines; Pedestrian one: I’ve been waiting here for five minutes to cross the road. Pedestrian two: There’s a zebra crossing further down the road. Pedestrian one: Well I hope he’s having more luck than I’m having!
