A triumvirate of heads, depicted from the shoulders up, of a young man, short of hair yet long and keen of features and visual acumen.

The self-same head is sculpted and cast, and repeated threefold, by none other than much sought after contemporary figurative artist, Fletcher Sibthorp, in this, his most recent illustrative advent. Differentiated only by the juxtapositioning of colours, there’s a brazen, bold outlook and pictorial ideal explored and functionalised in this Sibthorp piece, which almost affords it a photo-realistic brevity.

Looking at it from left to right, and delivering an artistically aware post mortem on what we see, the following rings true; the first head is greys, greens and murkier undertones and subtexts, whilst the second and middle interpretation on a theme is vividly red, alive and dangerous to a certain degree.

The third vision appears like a negative, all dark blues and less strenuous on the eyes and mind, although never bordering on restful.
