Wendy Corbett

Like many artists Wendy Corbett trained as a teacher, and after realising this was not for her she did what she could to make a living whilst trying to get ahead in the world of art. Wendy Corbett is a self taught artist and works mainly in pastel, most of her work is exclusively in colour after a period of working in graphite – but she sometimes returns to the pencil. She believes pencil is very detailed but can take several weeks to complete, where pastel is almost instant, giving mood and atmosphere very quickly. Having exhibited work at the gallery in Kingsbridge where she lives, she won the Monochrome section award at P.A.W.S, a national wildlife competition
